Troubleshooting: Getting the Best Results From AI Separation

June 25, 2026 · 1 min read

AI separation usually just works, but if something seems off, this checklist will sort it out.

It’s very slow

Heavy AI work depends on your device. For speed, use Chrome on a computer rather than an old phone, and let the multi-core mode kick in. The first run is always slower because the model is downloading; after that it’s cached and faster.

It seems stuck on a long song

Very long songs (over five minutes) use a lot of memory, especially in the full four-stem split. For long tracks, use the top Vocals & Instrumental button, which is lighter, or cut the song into halves with the Song Cutter and process each.

The instrumental still has faint vocals

Some songs bury harmonies and ad-libs deep in the mix. Start from the highest-quality source file you have — a clean WAV separates better than a low-bitrate MP3. Studio recordings also separate more cleanly than live ones.

Nothing downloads

Check that your browser isn’t blocking downloads from the site, and that you’ve waited for processing to reach 100%. On phones, downloaded files usually land in your Downloads folder or your Files app.

It won’t start at all

Make sure you’re on a current browser. If the first-run model download failed (often a flaky connection), refresh the page and try again on Wi-Fi.

Still stuck? The tool runs entirely in your browser, so a simple refresh fixes most temporary glitches.
